The decision to start tutors came to me when I got a phone call from my fellow tutor Natalya. She was approached by Ryan — a student asking her to tutor PHP. The student was looking for help with PHP for weeks but was unable locate such a tutor. In his frustration Ryan called up any tutor whose profile contained programming. Natalya was such a profile. Although Natalya is a computer science major she does not tutor PHP. What stunned me is that I specialize in PHP and I live in Ryan’s vicinity. But Ryan was unable to locate me on the web. More precisely the search feature of the web site that carried my profile was rather poor so that Ryan was unable to locate me. I thought to myself that here is a real opportunity to help both students and tutors. Presto, Tutorz was born.

I sympathize with students and parents in their struggle to find fitting tutor. At the same time it is hard for tutors to get the word out about their tutoring business. My greatest joy would be if Tutorz meets your needs. Please let me know what I can do better to fulfill my mission.
