Personal Statement

My desire to provide a quality education began with my own learning experiences. I believe that getting a quality education is the most important thing that a person can do for themselves and for their families. I have focused on my education for many years. It is my desire to help others see the abilities within themselves and strive for the best. It is important to me to ensure that others not only can pass the subject that they are taking and struggling with but to really understand the materials that they are working with. With this mindset I have tutored children as well as adult learners for the past 5 years. I recognize two distinct tutoring settings and I have tutored students in both settings. I have worked in a close environment one on one with students, and I have worked with the students in a long distance form over the computer and phone. I prefer face to face hands on teaching I feel that it provides a better learning environment, especially with the younger learner. I have tutored long distance from Utah to California over the phone and computer. I did not enjoy that as well due to the fact that there was less of an ability to ensure full attention on the subject at hand. I hold every student accountable for their work. I hold myself accountable for helping them to understand the subject in order to get the grade they need to succeed. It is my firm belief that there is an option for everyone to learn, including the instructor. I am always ready to help that learning process along. I believe that in many cases the lack of learning is not due to a lack of desire. I believe it stems more from the lack of opportunity. I am here to help opportunity recognize the ability of those that really want it!
