Education and Qualifications

school: Clark University

Bachelors in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Masters in Biology at Clark University I have a total of 6 years of tutoring, both privately and in school clubs. I tutored Math, Physics, Biology Chemistry when I was in high school, mostly to my fellow classmates (2001 to 2003). In college, I privately tutored Math, Chemistry and Physics, and was also part of the Chemistry Club which held bi-weekly sessions for struggling students (2).

Personal Statement

I love tutoring and helping others and would do it for as low as $25 an hour (not really in it for the money). I am most efficient best on one-on-one sessions or small study groups. All my committed students have performed well and there have been no complaints with my teaching style (yet). I am interested in tutoring Math (algebra 1 and 2, precalculus, calculus trigonometry etc) , SAT Math, SAT writing, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry for anyone who needs it! If you need help, just contact me. As for my academic background,I went to high school in Kenya, where I took the Cambridge based 'IGCSE' 'O' Level system, from which I graduated with 6A*s and 2Bs in my final in June 2001. This education system followed the British curriculum, thus the language of instruction was English. In September 2001, I enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme at the Aga Khan Academy in Nairobi, Kenya (equivalent to AP here in the US). In June 2003, I graduated 2nd in a class of 40. After 5 years, I graduated from Clark with both my Bachelors and my Masters. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with High Honors in Biochemistry (bachelors, 3.8 GPA) and a 4.0 GPA for my Masters in Molecular Biology. I am currently working as a research associate ( mostly Chemistry and Math) in the Protein Analytics group at Abbott Bioresearch Center, while applying to medical schools for entry in Fall 2010. I have so far interviewed at at Yale, Harvard, Brown, Northwestern,Cornell, Tufts, BU, UMass, Mount Sinai Med schools so far ( in case you were wondering). So far have been admitted to UMass and Tufts. If you are pre-med I can help you out at any stage of the gruesome med school application process from MCAT preps/tips to AMCAS essay preps to interviews. I also worked as a computer tech and have experience in troubleshooting Windows (2000 to Vista) and Mac (10.3 to Leopard).
