Personal Statement
I spent two years at Lock Haven University where I studied finance before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh. Following that, I studied business management and economics before education became a field of interest. I had been persuaded affluently by a professor to become an educator myself. I spent the next year and a half studying education and graduating with honors in both business management and business education. I recently have started my graduate work through Walden University, studying Instructional Design and Technology with a specialization in online learning. I plan to marry my beautiful fiancé this summer and hopefully be helping many students prepare for post-secondary schooling as well as preparing students to become our future leaders in business! Nonetheless, I have excellent characteristics that help build cognitive knowledge through different methods of teaching.
I have completed my course and student teaching experience in the state of Pennsylvania as well as passed my standardized test to have a certification in education. Through these experiences, I have gained adequate knowledge to help build rapport, as well as, methods of teaching to help every student. I cannot wait to help mold our future leaders through classroom material as a tutor. Furthermore, during my experiences at the University of Pittsburgh, I also coached football. My first two years of coaching experience I spent as a head freshman football coach. I then moved up to Defensive Coordinator where I implemented defensive games plans each week. It truly was a wonderful experience that I would love to get involved in again in the Erie area. During this time, I implemented intense weight lifting, plyometric, and conditioning programs to help illuminate students' athletic ability. Nonetheless, my methods and approach to teaching and tutoring are similar to those of teachers.
I use an approach called guided instruction. I will guide you along the spectrum from beginning or learning stages such as introduction and I will guide you to the opposite end of the spectrum called mastery. We will certainly have enough time to perform this, but I refuse to take anything less than mastery on both my part, as well as your part as a student. I will create diverse lesson plans to help you learn and master the material, I will not simply present all the information to you. It will seem as if I am, but cognitive knowledge is best gained through errors and critical thinking, which we will perform every day. I will use many different ways to present the information every period we meet and it will undoubtedly create success for you as a student. Again, I cannot wait to meet with you to begin our success period. You are our future leader.
