I am currently a graduate student at the California State University, Northridge. I am working on my M.S. Degree in Structural Engineering. I have tutored over 23 Engineering related subjects for about 4 years, two with the University.
As an undergraduate student, I maintained a 3.95 Engineering G.P.A. while at CSUN. I have various techniques to help students grasp difficult topics and ideas. There have been many professors in my family, and I have developed some of my techniques from watching them while growing up.
I was a tutor in CSUN's Engineering Department for 2 years. During that time I have tutored Calculus 1, 2 and 3; Differential Equations; Physics, Mechanics and Electromagnetism; Engineering Statics and Dynamics; AutoCAD; Material Science; Strength of Materials; Construction Management; Structures; Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Hydraulics; Steel Design; Concrete Design; Vibrations; Fundamentals of Circuits; Engineering Statistics; Engineering Economics; Fundamentals of Soils and Foundations.
Since then I have worked in various fields of Civil Engineering, Construction, Drafting, and Seismic Research.
I am also capable of teaching various computer programs such as AutoCAD, RISA, SAP2000, and Google SketchUp.
As a part of my graduate studies, I have taken courses in Timber & Masonry Design, Pre-Stressed Concrete Design, Advanced Steel Design, and Structural Dynamics.
Throughout my career as a Civil Engineering student, I have taken nothing for granted. I would always reinforce my understanding of the subject by going through mathematical derivations, and by interrelating topics from different fields in Engineering. I was President of the American Society of Civil Engineers during my Junior year at CSUN and I was also President of the Engineer Honor's Society, Tau Beta Pi, in my last year as an undergrad.
I still volunteer my time and expertise to many Engineering clubs at CSUN. I have helped and participated with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Tau Beta Pi, IEEE and HKN (Electrical Engineering Societies). I enjoy helping others, and have spent the past four years doing just that.
