Personal Statement

I worked in software development in corporate positions for over 30 years. My tasks included programming, software quality assurance, and software process improvement. During that time, I developed an interest in graphic design and all things related to the Internet. I've had my web design business now for over 10 years. For almost 20 years I've been involved in graphic design and web design. My focus has mostly been on producing quality scripted web sites using web standards. I build search engine friendly web sites and teach my students how easy it is to also build sites that are accessible to people with disabilities. My skills include Internet Marketing (Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing). I am currently an adjunct professor for Palm Beach State College, providing web design classes in HTML and Adobe Dreamweaver. I am also a Microsoft Office Specialist, certified for Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. I tutor these subjects as well. I enjoy teaching and tutoring and seeing the "aha" moment when my students find clarity as they develop their computer skills. I am patient and realize everyone starts at various skill levels. Some time ago, I was designated as "the" tutor for seniors who aspire to learn computer skills because I am a patient tutor.
