Personal Statement
Most recently, I worked as a behavioral specialist for at-risk youth and children that have psychological diagnoses. Consequently, I really enjoy helping kids out. I have two bachelors degrees (zoology/psychology). I have a Masters degree in clinical psychology. I have taught Anatomy and Lab at the university level. I have been a tutor for both anatomy and psychology. I work have worked with people that have learning disabilities.
I have also helped set up a math and reading lab in a middle school local to my home. My personal goal is to make learning fun and also informative. I think it is important for a tutor to ensure that the student is learning the subject, not just having the tutor do the work for them.
I am very personable and enjoy spending time with people one-on-one to better facilitate their learning. I feel that this type of interaction can make all the difference in the world at helping someone learn and understand a topic.
Ultimately, I think my goal is to have someone have command over the topic they are being challenged by.
