Personal Statement

Hello and thank you for looking at my profile! My name is Garrett and I am a Certified Public Accountant with five years of experience as an Accounting instructor. I know that Accounting scares people; in fact, my first Accounting class scared me! But, I had a great teacher who made the class fun and interesting. She related the course concepts to real world examples. I was surprised at how Accounting affects my everyday life and how understanding Accounting concepts helps business professionals from entry-level employees to senior managers or even those who want to start their own business. I loved Accounting so much that I decided to become a CPA and passed the exam on the first attempt! When I teach Accounting, I try to incorporate many of the same things that worked for me when I was an Accounting student. I use language that is easy to understand, and I use practical examples to reinforce Accounting concepts. I do this by spending time teaching Accounting concepts so that students can see how they can solve the problems on their own. If you are interested in pursuing a career in Accounting as a CPA, I will be happy to help you with more advanced courses as you complete your Bachelor's or Master's degree programs. And if your passion is not Accounting but you still need to pass Accounting 101, then I'll help you get through it!!
