Personal Statement
What makes a first-class tutor? First, the tutor needs a firm grasp of the task at hand, whether it's fine-tuning a research paper or tackling algebraic equations. Even more important, the tutor needs patience and understanding to take the student to the next level! Please read on...
English is my best subject. In middle school, I discovered a natural talent for helping out friends who were struggling with the material for the next vocab quiz or the concept of subject-verb agreement. However, I can also relate to the struggle of calculus--my brother and a terrific teacher pulled me through that subject in high school! I'm also qualified and glad to take on the whole gamut of subjects for elementary and middle school students.
A little more about myself--I have a BA in Theatre Performance from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA, and I've traveled nationally in touring theatre. On my last gig, I performed short versions of Shakespeare plays for students in North Carolina schools. While in the South, I consumed a good variety of milkshakes, which I love--as I do all ice cream. Looking forward to hearing from you--Dorothy
