Personal Statement

I love teaching. One thing I do know is that learning does not come at the same pace for every student. Whether facing new challenges in building math skills, developing new language proficiency, or honing materials already learned, I believe that everyone can learn and have made it my life's work to help students of every age find confidence in their ability to be successful students. During my years teaching in PK-12 schools and in higher education, I have focused much of my energies working with students within the special education system. What this has allowed me to do is differentiate learning for every student. I know that learning is a process unique to each and every learner and that finding success and finding confidence may take attempting a number of different methods. I have successfully tutored numerous students in French, mathematics (pre-Algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and precalculus are my specialties), writing, critical thinking/researching, history and a wide range of other subjects in all age groups from PK-12 through higher education.
