Education and Qualifications

At the age of 20, I graduated from the University of Toledo in December of 1999 with a Bacheloržs Degree in Elementary Education Grades 1-8 with a Science Concentration. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA, a Summa Cum Laude honors. My experience as a substitute teacher in Grosse Pointe Public Schools in Grosse Pointe, Michigan gave me the opportunity to work with students of different ages and grades. I also taught full time as a first grade teacher. I am licensed to teach grades 1-8 in the State of Ohio. My love of children and teaching drives me to give my students my absolute best. I started Doodlerz Inc to serve students in my area with the best tutors I know!

Personal Statement

Doodlerz Inc. is committed to the enhancement of children's lives through supplemental education. My goal is to enrich the lives of students who are falling behind in school and to challenge those who find school to be too easy or boring. Wherever your child may fit in this spectrum there is something for you at Doodlerz Inc. I started Doodlerz Inc. because as a licensed school teacher, I was tired of seeing school children "falling through the cracks." I myself was a "doodler" in school. At a young age and all throughout college I found myself bored and doodling on my notebooks rather than paying attention and taking notes. I did turn out to have a knack for doodling, but the traditional schooling never challenged me enough. Children doodle in class for two reasons; either the lesson is too easy or it is too hard. Working as a full time school teacher, I found that there isnžt enough time in the school day to cater to each childžs individual and specific needs. That is where children fall through the cracks. The really smart children are not challenged enough, and the children falling behind are not taught the basics that they need to catch up. More and more these days, supplemental education is becoming necessary. Parents are willing to take this extra step to ensure their childrenžs futures. The one-on-one interaction that a child gets from a tutor is priceless. In private lessons, a teacher can individualize her teaching to one child. This is where real learning takes place. This is what has drawn me to tutoring.
