Personal Statement

My name is Kristin. I am an Elementary School teacher for 4th grade. I love what I do and what I teach! This year was my first year as a teacher and it flew by!! I started working in the school district 3 years ago. I began as an intern in special education. While I was an intern Griswold helped pay for my Master's degree in Education. I obtained my master's in Education in December of 2008. I was lucky enough to spend last year working in 1st grade as a student teacher and then I went on to become a long-term substitute. I completed my Bachelor's Degree at Keene State College in New Hampshire. I got my BA in Psychology with a minor in Counseling. I hoped to go back to school to become a school psychologist. However, after spending time in a classroom, I realized that's where I belonged :)So this is when I enrolled in a 14-month internship program to obtain my CT certification as well as my Master's degree! I also coach basketball for the Griswold School system as well. I began coaching 2 years ago and I feel lucky that I am also able to have this opportunity in this school system as well. My goal is to go back to school in the next 1-3 years and obtain my 6th year degree in Reading/Language Arts or Special Education. I love going to school and furthering my Education.
