Personal Statement
I have been teaching for 17 years in Florida, and three years abroad. In Miami, I teach accent reduction and conversation at Miami Dade College to non-native professionals who want to improve speaking and writing skills in English. I am most interested in assisting students who are having difficulty doing well in school due to a language barrier.Years of experience as an acting teacher have honed my skills in teaching students how to get over self consciousness and learn to focus.
I have a Masters in Film and a Masters in Global Communications. The second Master's from the American University of Paris is an asset when it comes to teaching public speaking, improved communications and ESL. I taught English skills in Paris, France while I was working on my degree and found that I enjoyed helping students learn how to improve grammar, gain confidence, and speak clearly. I am a dedicated teacher and have a passion for helping others.
