Personal Statement

Russian Language: I can teach you the Russian alphabet, the cases in Russian grammar and how to put sentences together, how to write Russian print and cursive, conversational vocabulary, and songs in Russian. If you want to invest enough time, I can get you to the point of conversing in Russian. It is a beautiful language and I love to teach it! I started learning Russian with a tutor myself when I was a teenager. I have studied Russian at the Institute of Strategic Languages and Cultures in Columbia, South Carolina, and I have a BA in General Studies with a Russian Concentration from Columbia International University. I have lived with only Russian-speakers for three months in St. Petersburg and for two months in Siberia. ESL: I can help you with English vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, usage, conversation, and grammar. I have a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Columbia International University, and I have taught beginning English and intermediate/advanced conversational English to youth and adults in Russia. I have also helped international students in America with college writing assignments. Writing: I can help you write papers using MLA and APA formats, learn correct sentence structure, proofread and edit your writing, and learn basic writing skills. I have worked as a reading/writing tutor at a community college.
