Education and Qualifications

I am a graduate of Avila University with a strong base in the liberal arts. I hold a degree in English with an emphasis in writing, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 grade point average. I spent two years as an editor for Avilas campus literary magazine while simultaneously being published several times in the same journal. In addition to winning the S. Marcella Holloway Award, I was also inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.

Personal Statement

I have always been passionate about the English language, from reading under the covers with a flashlight to journaling about my day. English is the foundation for every other subject area that is studied. Strong reading comprehension skills and a solid writing basis are imperative to succeed in our information age. I was homeschooled through all twelve lower grades and hold a degree in English with an emphasis in Writing. I would love to work with your child to develop improved writing skills that will benefit them in college and in the real world. I also offer help in other subjects as each student has their own distinctive needs. Each student is an individual with their own strengths and areas that need improvement. My goal is not only to customize the instruction to the student, but to also invest in them as human beings.
