Education and Qualifications
I graduated from Linfield College with a BA in English and have been private tutoring for 13 years now. I have recently begun to specialize in English studies, including Reading Comprehension and Writing Skills. Throughout the time I have been a tutor I have helped kids as young as 3 all the way through college age. Although I prefer to tutor in the area of English and literature I am avid in tutoring Math, Study Skills, Test Prep, and for the SAT.
Personal Statement
I have been tutoring since I was young and have develpoed a knack for adjusting my tutoring style to each individual student. I attempt to make each lesson exciting and even enjoyable for the student. This usually helps him/her learn more efficiently and retain more information. Because I was just a student when I started tutoring I understand my students fears and struggles and can connect with them on many levels. My rates vary depending on travel time/distance, the age of the student, and how much planning has to be done for each lesson. I also offer discounts for multiple sessions and referrals.
