Education and Qualifications

I currently hold a master's degree and two bachelor's degrees. I have over ten years of teaching experience. For the past three years I have worked as a middle school English teacher at a private school in Queens. In this position, I have designed curriculum so as to make information accessible to various types of learners. During this time, I have also worked as a private tutor covering subjects such as: Specialized High School exams, Hunter High School test prep., SAT/ACT test prep., college essay application writing, essay/paragraph writing, reading with a priority on inferring and analysis, vocabulary development, research paper writing, middle school mathematics, etc.

Personal Statement

Teaching effectively is something in which I take great pride. Throughout my years, I have utilized my ability to reflect on constructive teaching practices as well as identify techniques that prove ineffective. In an effort to relate new, abstract, and sophisticated information to students, it is first necessary for the teacher to be an expert on the subject, and I put in a great deal of time studying the material before I plan my lessons. I am highly dependable, and work to ensure that each student with whom I teach gets my full attention and effort at each session.
