I recently graduated from Governers State University, summa cum laude, with a Bachelors Degree in English. I am currently a graduate student at Governors State University pursuing a Masters Degree in English, and aspire to earning a Ph.D in the future. I also work in the Governor's State University Writing Center as a tutor. I typically have approx. 20 face to face tutoring session with both undergraduate and graduate students per week. I am also working towards a gradute level Certification in Online Teaching.
Personal Statement
I have learned that each student has a slightly different learning style. I feel it is important to understand in which way students learn best so that I can tailor a study program to suite their unique needs. Writing is not easy, as nearly all English students know, so I try to break the process down into manageable parts: starting with larger components such as focus and organization, and then working at details such as grammar and mechanics. Writing is a skill and a tool that we will use throughout our lives; my goal is to help students become better writers.
