Personal Statement

Having traveled throughout the world I have had the chance to teach and learn different things in different countries. As a student in France I tutored a French man in English. In college I was a Dana Fellow for study abroad advising students about what to expect during a year abroad. I spent one year teaching English to Japanese junior high school students in the public school system in Japan and one year teaching Japanese business people at a private company. I helped a Japanese student in the U S study for her driver's test. I have tutored an American junior high school student in Japanese. I have worked as a liaison between English speaking yacht captains and the local French service people in St. Barths. I have been a substitute teacher inn the public school system near my hometown working in three different districts and all grade levels. I have a background in travel, sewing, swimming, language, home organizing and pet care. I am patient, curious, diligent, efficient, adventurous, fit, well spoken, gentle and down to earth. I usually work from various text books for a well rounded exposure to the subject matter and to keep things interesting.
