Personal Statement
I enjoy teaching. As a student at BYU, I tutored many students through various math and science courses. I loved it so much, that I worked as a Statistics TA where I was able to teach supplemental Statistics labs. Even after graduating in Neuroscience, I have continued tutoring. I worked for Utah Valley State College tutoring high school and college students in math and science courses. I tutored my younger brother through high school mathematics, worked as a Math Aide at Sunset Ridge Middle School, tutored various High School students independently, and I teach my own kids at home.
Through my tutoring experiences, I have discovered my teaching strengths. I recognize that each child has a different learning style, and I tailor my teaching methods to help the individual or group. I will organize my time and tutoring materials, adapt my teaching methods to meet the needs of the students, and help the students under pressure meet deadlines.
