Personal Statement

I have experience teaching all subjects related to English and also specifically teaching students to pass the AIMs, ACT, and/or get a GED. I have a teaching certificate from the state of Arizona and a Bachelors degree with a major in Theatre and Speech, and a minor in English. I've also tutored a lot of students with ADHD, Aspergers, or other disabilities. I've worked with tutoring companies and as a free lance tutor. I also volunteer with Literacy Volunteers of Tucson and help both adults and children improve their reading skills. I've been teaching and tutoring for several years now and I honestly love doing it. I love to see my students learn and grow and for a lot of students that means someone sitting down with them and teaching one-on-one. And regardless of what subject I am tutoring a student in, my personal goal with students is to encourage them to read more. There are millions of books out there and somewhere in those millions of books there are some that your student would enjoy reading. Simply reading will do wonders to improve English skills especially spelling and vocabulary.
