Personal Statement

My educational background and work experience is broad and diverse in disciplines and subjects. I hold a Master of Science Degree from Springfield College in Emerson Falls, Vermont in Human Services Administration with a focus on Organizational Management and Development. Also, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida in Psychology/Sociology/Criminal Justice with Spanish as a second language and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Jones College of Business in Jacksonville, Florida in Business Management and Marketing. In addition, I have several years of teaching experience, all subjects in grades k-12, with greatest concentration on grades 6-12. I have done tutoring in mathematics, algebra, trigonometry, English, earth sciences, social studies, American history, remedial reading and remedial mathematics. My teaching style is open and feedback from students and parents is always welcome. Different perspectives and approaches to a subject is necessary to make the subject matter clearly understood, especially in technical subjects like mathematics and algebra. Just as people learn in different ways, a tutor should be flexible, patient, versatile and diverse in approach. This provides a learning environment that is relaxed and focused. Thus, enabling the student to gain the acquired skills, understanding, knowledge and information of the subject at hand. I also have several years experience in the engineering and business management fields, and currently have a home based business. I am available in the Sallisaw, OK area.
