About Me:
Over the past year I have been a substitute teacher for The Art School in Glencoe, IL, working with children, multi-leveled adults, and elderly students.
I am a painter who specializes in portraiture. My abilities include traditional oil painting techniques, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, drawing, and dry media. I am very well versed in art history.
My work has been exhibited in The Gene Siskel Film Center, Betty Rymer Gallery, Sullivan Gallery, and the Fine Arts Building. During my time at SAIC, I was accepted into their upper-division painting program, Advanced Painting and given my own studio. As a senior in high school, I was awarded the Congressional Art Award, for which my painting was hung in the Capitol Building, and I received a $3,000 Scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design. Upon acceptance to SAIC, I was granted their Merit Scholarship.
I am interested in being a visual arts teacher. I find it gratifying to be able to lend my knowledge of art and its application to eager learners. I have been creating art since I could pick up a crayon. I believe self-expression is integral to one's well being and that visual art fortifies one's ability to problem solve.
