Education and Qualifications

I graduated from Middlebury College with a M.A. in French. My undergraduate degree is a B.A. in French and Secondary Education from Principia College. My teaching experience has been in Spanish and French at both public and private schools.

Personal Statement

I am a credentialed, experienced teacher who has taught in both public and private schools. Currently, I am seeking tutoring opportunities for evenings and weekends. My tutoring experience is in Spanish, French, and study skills. I have been tutoring sixth-twelfth grade students for the past six years. I love tutoring because I get to work in a one-on-one environment with students and help them gain confidence in oral and aural proficiency. Having taught a wide range of levels in middle and high school (and even elementary school level Spanish), I can offer a lot of strategies for learning vocabulary, grammar, and culture. My passion for languages developed at a young age. I was fortunate to study both Spanish and French and take advantage of study abroad opportunities in high school and college. I spent one quarter in Bordeaux and another in Paris, France. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree in Secondary Education and French, I decided to pursue a Master's degree in France through Middlebury College. There, I was able to attend courses at Universites de Paris I and V. I taught English as a second language in Paris. After returning to Los Angeles to teach Spanish and French at Chadwick School, I completed coursework in Spanish and spent a summer studying in Costa Rica.
