Personal Statement
If your child is getting ready for a Bar-Bat Mitzvah, or if they are young and are still about 2-3 years away from a bar/bat mitzvah, it's never too early to start! Additionally, if you have an adult that wants to learn about Hebrew and Judaism I can help!
I offer Hebrew reading, writing, conversational Hebrew, and Bar-Bat Mitzvah tutoring to all ages (even adults). If your child is struggling with Hebrew right now in Hebrew school, or if you are worried about his or her Bar-Bat Mitzvah I can help them get to the level that is needed. It all starts with being able to read Hebrew correctly, then they can move into a smooth transition when it comes to actually training for that big day and having to read in the prayer book and Torah. I can prepare them with a great program and track, and work with them closely to make sure their reading is perfected so they have no problem reading for their Bar-Bat Mitzvah which is the biggest and most nerve wracking step for the child.
I have the qualifications and years of experience that is needed to train children for their Bar-Bat Mitzvah. I have been teaching Hebrew now for 8 years and have taught at several different levels of Hebrew reading ranging from beginner to advance. In addition, I have successfully trained several students in preparation for their Bar-Bat Mitzvah's. I am proficient in Service, Torah and Haftarah Trope. As for my educational background, I received my Masters in Jewish Studies at Touro College last year and I am currently working on a PhD at Lehigh University. I have several years of individual Hebrew tutoring experience on top of classroom experience and have worked closely with many different children preparing their reading for the big day. I believe that even if your child is still only in 4th grade and their Bar-/Bat Mitzvah is far away, it is still never too early to get them started. This will make the process a lot easier and smoother, especially when they forget so much in the summer, and go for a couple of months without Hebrew and have to relearn a lot of it!
I am extremely flexible and able to work out times and schedules with you, whether you would like to do 2-3 hours a week, once or twice a week, or even an hour a week, it is up to you.
