Personal Statement
Hi there! My name is Jill, and I used to work as a college professor in Houston, TX before moving back to SC to open my own business. I have my MFA in Performing Arts and a BA in English/Drama. I am an instructor, actor, & director, but I love being in school. My teaching style is very conversational and student-focused. I have experience teaching students of all ages and learning abilities. I am a hard-worker, and I expect the same of the students I teach.
I have taught workshops on auditioning technique. I have a published work on playwright Lillian Hellman. I also have a passion for phonetics and the International Phonetic Alphabet (which all actors should know). I also work on accent reduction through using the International Phonetic Alphabet. I have worked as a director and as an actor both on stage and on screen.
