Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Terrie. The most important thing to know about me is that I really enjoy teaching and have a lot of patience. I have home schooled my three children and each has become a productive successful adult. I have worked within both school and home settings with autistic/special needs children and understand their unique challenges and abilities. I enjoy writing and have been published in an nationally distributed magazine. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology. I have tutored elementary school children in many subjects - especially math and reading/writing. I have been involved in reciprocal teaching between native Spanish speaking individuals learning English and my learning Spanish and have taught a dyslexic, illiterate man to be able to functionally read at the level he desired. I like to make learning a fun and encouraging experience no matter the student's age or the subject.
