Personal Statement
I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating, I joined the U.S. Peace Corps and moved to rural Tanzania. I am fluent in English, Vietnamese, and Swahili, and I also have some basic knowledge in French and Mandarin. For the past two years, I've done work in HIV/AIDS prevention and education as well as gender equality. While I was in Africa, I even built a school library!
I've had two years professional teaching experience with high school students, and I have also done a lot of private tutoring. The thing I love most about teaching is spending time with students, getting to know them better, and seeing them do well in class.
