Personal Statement
Dear Student,
So you are looking for a new tutor. Choosing a tutor is a big decision. It is important to find someone you work well with and who challenges and encourages you. My personal philosophy is that the best way to help you get the most of out tutoring is to find things that interest you and build lessons around those things. I have experience using poetry, drama, theater, dance, puppetry, music, science experiments, and many other avenues to help students, like you, get the most out of each lesson. By incorporating many different instructional strategies, from discussions to hands on activities, learning takes place in different parts of your brain and makes what you learn more meaningful and lasting. When people create connections to what they are learning they remember is longer and are able to link that new information to things they already know and to things they learn in the future.
I have experience working with students in elementary school to high school. I have a master degree in elementary and special education. I am very patient and creative and love seeing students learn and grow both academically and as individuals. I work well with students who are have difficulty understanding new concepts and students who are looking to challenge themselves.
I look forward to working with you to meet your goals!!!!
