Personal Statement
My name is Aaron and on May 16th, 2009, I graduated with a bachelors of science degree in mathematics and a minor in statistics from Penn State Erie, the Behrend College. On May 14, 2011, I graduated from Liberty University with my masters in education.
During my time in school I learned I really love teaching. I really enjoy teaching and tutoring because I know what it is like to struggle with math. I never did well in math in high school, but it was always my dream to be good at it! When I started college I started at Algebra I and worked my way up! It was quite a challenge (most people start in Calculus), but I made it! Consequently, I am a very patient and understanding teacher! I know what it is like to "just not get it" and I know what it is like to have teachers who can't explain a concept simply and clearly.
If you are looking for a tutor in English, social studies, history, or the like, I am also an excellent fit! Although I was never naturally good at math and I had to work at it for years to get it, I have always been gifted verbally. I was number one French student in high school (I even got a little medal). I can't remember ever getting anything less than a B in any English class (and I took only honors courses), and I aced my verbal section of my SAT's (perfect 800 score...). I am articulate, a natural spelling whiz, and I am good with grammar. I also love history and just about every other subject, humanities or otherwise.
To sum it all up, I love math and science, social studies, and just about every subject! I love kids and teaching (and I am certified to teach in 2 states, currently looking for a teaching job), and I would love the chance to help a young mind realize it's potential (I can relate to struggling!). My rate is $20 an hour, and I would be willing to teach wherever you want: your home, a library, or etc. If you have any questions, let me know!
