Personal Statement

Hello! I am a recent college graduate and would love an opportunity to impart some of the knowledge I have acquired over the years. I love teaching others, but also know that there is a lot I can learn from them, especially those younger than I am. I am fluent in four languages (Creole, French, Spanish, & English). I am conversational in Japanese and Arabic as well. Therefore, I can tutor in any of the languages listed above (Japanese I and Arabic I & II). I can tutor any level in Spanish, French and Creole. I am also available to tutor in math, science, history and English/grammar. I am a very easy going person and a good listener and I believe that's one of the main reasons why my students have found it easy to get along with me in the past. I have over 8 years of experience tutoring my family and other students in the subjects mentioned above. For math I can tutor up to trigonometry and in science I can tutor chemistry, biology, physics, earth science, etc. In addition to my varied background, another quality that I possess, which makes me suitable to tutor, is my ability to communicate clearly with all of my students. One of my favorite quotes is: "Live as if you'll die tomorrow. Learn as if you'll live forever." I believe there is a lesson to be learned everyday and I really enjoy learning. One of the ways to continue learning, in my opinion, is to teach others what I've learned in an effort to retain the knowledge, while adding to it daily.
