Education and Qualifications
Personal Statement
I am experienced to teach young children Mandarin, as all my children speak Mandarin like natives.
As someone who born and raised in Taiwan, Mandarin is my first language. I taught English to Mandarin speaking children from pre-school through 6th grade for 2 years. This position enables me to provide these students with a "head start" in mastering basic English language. From that experience, I was mostly tasked with creative ways to teach the material. When you're teaching 5 year olds you HAVE to be creative, otherwise you'll quickly loose them. I am nurturing and most of all, patient. I am so proud to see them become confident in themselves as learners! If they believe in themselves, learning is much easier! Teaching young children was by far is the most rewarding experience I ever had.
