Personal Statement

I have been in the teaching field for over 30 years. I have taught from pre-Kinder to seniors, preparing to enter college. I have a BS Degree in Liberal Arts with emphasis on education. Throughout my career, I have always tutored individually and small groups. My approach is to make sure the students understands what it is that they are suppose to do. This gives a clear and solid foundation on how to prepare and approach instructions with the students. I believe all students can learn. Some students simply have to work harder than others. I believe all teachers should work just as hard to reach that one student. I do not believe students fail. I believe teachers fail students. By that I simply mean, with the problems in schools and the over-crowdings, etc, teachers are simply not able to give students the individual attention that they need to master the subject that they are having problems with.
