Personal Statement
Greetings! In my experience as a Bachelor's Degree-trained Registered Nurse since 1997, I've specialized in direct patient care of all ages in medical-surgical hospital settings, and also in Healthcare Informatics. I'm currently a software analyst and physician/nurse software educator for a local healthcare company, here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My career has also enabled me to give lectures to large audiences (almost 200 people at once). I'm a friendly, dedicated and proven educator who teaches best via transformational/contextual teaching and learning principles. As for children, my proudest teaching moments involved using the hospital room as a "classroom". I taught children what brought them to the hospital & why, how their body works, and how to best maintain/prevent their various injury/illness...I even inspired a high-school freshman to become an internal medicine physician!
