Personal Statement
Dear prospective students,
I'm a native Mandarin speaker from Shanghai with over 2 years of experience teaching and tutoring Mandarin to students of all ages at public schools, tutoring center, and private language schools. I currently work for an after school program at an elementary school in SF where I lead the Mandarin program to K-5 students. During my Mandarin class, I'm able to use Mandarin as the medium of instruction and teach Mandarin in a fun and engaging way that my students love. Many parents are quite surprised to see their kids improve tremendously from not knowing any Mandarin to being able to conduct daily conversation and tell stories in Mandarin within one semester.
My creative way of teaching Mandarin not only helps my students improve their Mandarin skills, but also helps me build a strong bond with all my students by providing them a fun learning environment. All of my students and their parents have shown great satisfaction with my teaching as I have helped the students improve their listening and speaking skills which can hardly be achieved in the conventional Mandarin class that only focuses on reading and writing. To me, teaching Mandarin is challenging, yet very rewarding. In me, you will find someone who is unusually dedicated, self-motivated, and who possesses a strong passion for Mandarin teaching.
