I graduated from Frostburg State University in 2003 and have taught as a first grade teacher with Cecil County Public Schools since then. I also have my masters degree in reading from Wilmington University. I have tutored students in grades PreK-3rd grade. I can work with younger students on letter/sound and number recognition as well as prepare them for entrance testing. I also tutor in vocabulary/spelling development, reading and reading comprehension, writing and elementary math concepts. I have been trained and use the Earobics, LiPS, and Marcia Freeman programs. I have access to all materials needed for tutoring.
Personal Statement
I believe that all students are capable of learning to read and write. I choose to get my masters degree in reading to learn reading intervention strategies. I have also started a reading intervention program at my school in which I am the lead teacher in this program.
