I have 25 years of experience as a consulting economist providing the following services: -Provide economic/industry/market/regional research, analysis & report writing to facilitate informed decisions -Manage civil litigation and regulatory proceeding projects -Conduct business valuations -Prepare econometric and statistical analysis -Execute financial analysis Here are a few examples of my economic projects: I was a key player in supporting less energy regulation. My employer was notified that federal and state governments wanted to reduce regulatory requirements to generate more competitive U.S. energy markets. I intervened with government regulatory authorities on behalf of multiple energy clients to provide research and analysis. This resulted in a significant increase in the competition in energy production, transmission and storage market segments. I provided documentation to support reduced costs. LA and Long Beach Ports hired my employer to analyze the effectiveness of two different programs for reduced emission controls. I managed the research and analysis and authored the report for both strategies. The adoption of this report by Port led to cost-effective emissions reduction. I helped win a class action antitrust suit. After deregulation of natural gas in the U.S., two pipeline companies undertook antitrust actions that increased the cost of gas transported to CA consumers. Our firm represented the plaintiffs. We prepared reporting for the estimated damages incurred by consumers. The case was settled based on our analysis, awarding $1.7 billion to CA consumers. I supported an increase in sales price. PAMC Management was a partner in the Mesa Wind Farm and its partner, Zond Systems, wanted to purchase complete ownership interest. PAMC hired my employer to provide a valuation of the company. I wrote a market analysis/valuation report that quantified the value in excess of offer. Zond increased the offer and it was accepted by PAMC. I prepared materials for an industry impact report. Sonoma County Winegrowers Association hired Recon to provide an analysis of the industry economic impact on the county economy to increase public knowledge. I managed the project, completed the research and analysis and wrote the client report. I fulfilled the client's request with a report indicating that the industry had a significant impact on the economy. I researched economic proposals for political campaigns. A CA Controller considered running for Governor and wanted several initiatives researched for their benefits to the state. He hired my employer to research and prepare results. I managed the project, assessed and compared economic proposals and wrote the report. If he had been elected, the CA economy would have seen improvement.
