Education and Qualifications

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.A. in Spanish and Interpersonal Communication. In addition to tutoring in these subjects, I have also tutored and assisted in teaching ESL classes at an adult and junior high level.

Personal Statement

I believe you are capable of learning and excelling: I am merely a guide to help you find within yourself the capacity you already have to improve. By learning tools for betterment and discovering patterns in error, we can maximize our time together, and as a result, you will not only see improved test scores, you will have changed for the better in your language of choice. If it is not clear to you yet, I have a passion for language and for passing what I know on to others. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Spanish, and I have extensive experience tutoring and training others. In addition to my English as a Second Language (ESL) experience discussed in the ESL section of my profile, I have also tutored through a local youth center, tutored in Communication Studies at my university, and served as a Peer Writing Assistant at my college's Writing Center. Classes in education and training for organizations have furthered my ability create learner-focused learning programs. Finally, my study abroad experiences in Argentina and Mexico have taught me first hand the struggles and rewards that come with learning a new language. As a non-native speaker, I was forced to find patterns within the language to enable me to communicate effectively. I can empathize you in your struggle and tell you that there is hope at the end.
