My undergraduate degree is in English from Chicago State University in 1979. I graduated magna cum laude with the English Departmental Award for writing excellence. In high school I graduated third in my class and in graduate school maintained a B+ average.

Personal Statement

I have experience teaching high school English and have found that teaching is a rich experience. I can offer a life-long love of language, whether that be expressed in the mechanics of spelling or the meta-understanding of poetic imagery. Any bit of writing that I do I do from the love for writing. I make it as perfect as I can make it, and I can help you do the same. Though you may be mired in grammar or spelling, I can lead you toward good sentences and fuller paragraphs, toward making a point and making it well.
