"Hello!

My name is Ms. Michelle, and I have a passion for helping beginner students achieve their musical goals and dreams. I have been a Middle School Music teacher for 6th-9th grade and have taught at private music institutions for over 10 years. I have also taught many students remotely, of all ages. Overall, I have a very holistic approach in that I like to meet my students wherever they are and then build off that.

I currently work at Willow Glen Music School and have worked here for about 3 years. I have had over 30 private students. Last year, about twenty of my Middle School students received music scholarships to study at the UW Summer Music Camp, fully funded. This was very exciting for them. Before this, I also worked at two other private music schools, one called Paper Moon Music School in San Diego, California.

I’m also a marine biologist with a Master’s degree in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. As both a Scientific Diver and a certified PADI Rescue Diver, I bring extensive hands-on experience in marine research, fieldwork, and underwater data collection. My background combines scientific expertise with a deep passion for ocean conservation and ecosystem management.

My students range from being seriously classically driven to loving fun modern pop music and everything in between! I teach a wide variety of violin styles, which include classical, pop, fiddle, country, and more. My students' age range has been from four years old to 70!
