"My name is Julianne, and I am currently a Mechanical Engineering student at Florida International University. I am very passionate about mathematics and science, and I enjoy helping students.
Technical Experience:
At NASA Ames Research Center, I worked as a Systems Engineering Intern, where I analyzed Unmanned Aerial Systems risks and hazards and co-authored a NASA publication titled “Modeling Mitigations and Hazards in UAS Emergency Response Operations.”
At The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, I completed two internships in Tire Product Development. During my first internship, I contributed to product optimization in the Tread and Cavity Department, and in my second internship within the Technology R&D Department, I designed a Python-based web-scraping tool.
In high school, I designed, built, and programmed a telepresence robot that could maneuver within senior living facilities to reunite the elderly with their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. This project earned several major recognitions, including the Miami Herald Silver Knight Award, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation Gold Award, and the Prudential Community Service Award.
Tutoring Experience:
I have several years of experience tutoring students in mathematics and science, ranging from elementary through college levels. My experience includes both volunteer and private one-on-one tutoring.
My approach:
I focus on building strong conceptual understanding and analytical thinking skills, tailoring each lesson to meet the learner’s unique pace and goals.
My teaching methods combine step-by-step guided problem solving, visual learning, and real-world applications to make complex topics approachable and engaging. I also emphasize interactive questioning and positive reinforcement to help students develop confidence in their abilities.
I truly look forward to helping you on your academic journey. I’m a patient, encouraging tutor who believes that with the right guidance and mindset, every student can excel." less...
