"This is my 21st year of teaching. I am certified by the Missouri Department of Education to teach science and math, grades 6-12 and have passed the required background check from the state. My tutoring experience includes working with students in geometry, algebra, ACT preparation (all subjects), physics, chemistry, biology, algebra 1 & 2, and trigonometry. I have taken ACT classes to learn how to better prepare students for the ACT. I currently teach middle school science in Kirkwood School district, hold my certification to teach from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I have 35+ hours in education technology and advanced science coursework (Vanderbilt University) and a Master's in Business Administration (SIU-E). My Bachelor of Science degree is from Missouri S&T.

Tutoring really involves listening to the student explain his/her needs and then tailoring the sessions to these needs. I love getting feedback from my students because I am a student myself and know that the learning process is continual. My eighteen years of experience makes me an exceptional tutor as I can draw from many resources to present the content. I am patient and know how to make a lesson relevant. I was selected as Teacher of the Year at my current school in 2003-2004.
Science and math are never boring to me! I believe that mindset comes across in my tutoring sessions. Plus my years of experience help me better tailor the content to the student's interests and needs. I love working with students of all ages and especially with students who are looking for someone who is patient and has lots of experience. I cannot say with certainty what approach I will use as a tutor as that depends on the student. Finding out if I am a tutor that's right for you will be the most important goal of our first meeting. I will not charge you for the first meeting if you decide that I am not the right tutor for yo" less...
