"I am a private math and computer science tutor for a tutoring center. I have also been a private tutor for AP students for 3 years, tutoring (or mostly helping cram information for) Calculus and Computer Science. In one of my experiences, I was able to teach the entire Computer Science A coursework in a mere 4 weeks to a confused student who never took the class, but decided to "self-study" the test. As the former Computer Science club's president, I helped teach, alongside an instructor from Northrop Grumman, my club members Cyber Security measures for the CyberPatriot competition. I also volunteered for my school's peer tutoring program, Hour Power, for all 4 years of my high school career. To start off, I scored near-perfect on the ACT (Composite : 34 Superscore: 35), earning top scores in all sections (Math : 35 , English : 35 , Reading : 35 , Science :33). Like many of my students, I didn't start off scoring high, so I understand students when they come up to me in despair, dreading the ACT practice test they just took. Through self-studying for the test and receiving a near perfect score, I have accumulated the necessary tricks and other miscellaneous techniques that could help guide students. I have tutored my peers in the ACT in the past and currently private tutor ACT for a student this summer. This student is a freshman, so they didn't really understand the concepts being tested, but after implementing my strategies, they struggled less. As mentioned in my bio, I was the Computer Science club's president and brought my club members to hackathons, helping them when needed. Through my experience as the president, I was able to find students interested in enrolling in my Computer Science crash course. All of them were taught privately, and I am pretty confident that they understood the material under my guidance. One of the key differences in teaching Computer Science as opposed to any other subjects is that you really need to adapt cumulative learning. I have mastered being able to instill these values in my students. I also believe it helps that I understand the studying process, as I took the AP Computer Science A as well as other AP subject tests only 2 years ago. I will not only be your tutor, but also a friend that truly cares for your learning experience! Always feel free to contact me for anything." less...
