"I have over 20 years of experience in career coaching, education and academic guidance, and have worked with hundreds of premedical students applying to medical schools. I served as an admissions panel interviewer for my medical school. My students have achieved an astounding 30-fold increase in their admissions rate, compared with the dismal national average of 2.63% matriculation into medical schools in the USA.
I have accepted students who were in their gap year after being rejected from every school in the first try. They enrolled with me and were accepted into schools in their top three choices the second time around, all by just polishing their application. No changes were made in their MCAT or GPA. It was simply a matter of changing the personal statements, engaging in meaningful extracurricular activities, and obtaining the proper letters of reference. I specialize in helping students manage their time, prioritize meaningful activities, develop effective study habits, and adjust their attitude towards academia. I provide the students with an invaluable, growing network of working professionals (graduates from elite schools) who are willing to give big sister/brother insight into the student's targeted career choice.
I teach the next generation to aim for leadership positions. I was a lieutenant commander in the United States Public Health Services, overseeing a team of clinicians. My leadership roles in my own career have sharpened my organizational and interpersonal skills. I desire to pass this wealth of knowledge and experience onto our youth to promote a productive, positive, and healthy society.
I connect my students with tutors for test preparation as I don't tutor in test preparation directly. I do however help students with their college and pre-graduate (e.g. law, medicine) school applications as that is my area of expertise. I review the language, content, and style of applications and personal statements, work with students on interview techniques, conduct mock interviews, connect them with extracurricular activities for weekends, evenings, and summer that will enhance their growth as an individual but also address the need to shine beyond their peers during the application process.
I am a licensed lawyer in NY and NJ and graduated from NYU Law school. I am a licensed internal medicine physician and graduated from NYU medical school. My own academic background has allowed me to relate personally to my students who are striving to gain acceptance into the nation's elite schools. Because of my historical success in helping my premedical students gain acceptance into medical schools, I have expanded my coaching services to high school students applying for colleges. It is nearly three times as difficult to gain acceptance into medical schools as it is to gain acceptance into Ivy League undergraduate schools. The medical school application process is also more complex and demanding than its undergraduate counterpart. Therefore, college application coaching is only a sliver of what I can offer for students desiring to excel academically.
All of my facebook testimonials attest to my warmth, effectiveness, and personalized coaching techniques. My students have become my lifetime mentees because I do not solely impact their admissions process, I inspire them to achieve the maximal success in life. I have served as a role model to them and pushed them to excel, look towards the distance, and achieve their ultimate career goal. I continue to do the same for students who are not my clients, such as my students at York College. As their adjunct faculty professor in Health Policy, I use this platform to encourage their career building and instill confidence in achieving their dreams." less...
