"Freshman year of high school, I signed up to be a Creative Classrooms tutor for Algebra I/II and Geometry. Initially, I did it for fulfilling Math Honor Society requirements. After tutoring students of various backgrounds and skill-level, I figured that tutoring is an inspiring and enriching experience for both the mentor and mentee. One reason I enjoy tutoring is because I love seeing my students understand a concept that they previously struggled with. From then on, I started to enjoy helping students understand various topics more and more. I became a teacher assistant at Hope Chinese school for the next few years and worked with a younger age group. I gained perspective from students both my age and years younger. Any student has potential; it just takes proper guidance and hard work. I am honored to be a tutor who can offer support to the student.

I am currently a college senior studying electrical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I have taken high level math courses such as differential equations, linear algebra, and multivariable calculus before my sophomore year. I was a full time engineering intern at Dominion in Richmond, VA last summer. Two summers ago, I held an internship at Pepco Holdings, Inc. I've earned a 5 on the AP Chinese Language exam, an 800 on the Chinese SAT, and earned honors in various competitions for Hope Chinese School. I have also represented my middle school in the regional MathCounts team, earned distinctions in the American Mathematics Competition 8, 10, and 12, and participated. I could not have done this without my mother, who is my tutor, and my dedicated work. I wish to give back to the community, and teach the way she guided me. That is, address each concept one by one, explain through each concept, go through practice over and over. Each student is unique, but I will use my core teaching principle with different means of execution.

For this summer, I hope to tutor younger students in math up to Algebra II or Mandarin Chinese. I will be in Fairfax, VA. I'll be available on weekday evenings, and I'll be available all day on weekends." less...
