"I grew up in a tightly knit family, because of that I watched and helped raise seven babies. Thirteen years later - I still love working with kids. In sixth grade I began babysitting, but I also became an assistant dance instructor. When I stopped dancing I became an assistant mixed martial arts instructor. My senior year of high school, I was a "homework helper" for a friend's make-shift tutoring/babysitting service. My first year of college - and hopefully the next three - I work for a program called Jumpstart. As a member of the program, I spent over 300 hours volunteering at local school events, but mainly spent it in the classroom working to improve literacy in children aged 2-4. While I was inspired to major in Sociology, I'm hoping to minor, if I can't double major, in Education. My dad always inspired me to explore and learn more; I try to instill that same love in my students." less...
