"I am a California certified teacher and educator. I hold a valid Single Subject Teaching credential in English and Social Science for grades 7-12. This includes English Language Arts of all kinds, History, Civics, Economics and Psychology. I also hold a valid California Multi-subject credential to teach grades K-8 so I am versed in all elementary subjects. My specialties include, but are not limited to, English Language Arts, Reading, Comprehension, Writing, Literature, Spelling, Grammar and Vocabulary. My abilities are strong in tutoring all academic subjects in high stake exams such as SAT English, CASHEE English, ACT, Subject Tests and AP courses. I passed the RICA Exam (Reading Instruction Comprehension Assessment) given by the state of California, so I am aware of strategies to teach all the facets of the English language. For each student I tutor, I devise a lesson plan specially designed for mastery and success of the subject matter. At the end of each tutoring session I send a progress report to the student and their parents via email. I work on long and short term academic solutions with regards to curriculum and I work closely with other teachers. My teaching philosophy is that every student can achieve and succeed with the proper tools. I learn about my students so that I can help them learn in their own personal learning styles.
