"Hi! My name is Laura and I am an art historian, artist, and educator. I received my B. A in Art History from Pratt Institute and am currently working toward my M.A in Museum Studies at CUNY School of Professional Studies.
I have experience teaching at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Children's Museum in both gallery discussions as well as art-making workshops. Additionally, I have worked as a private instructor for students ranging from ages 5 to 18 in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
My teaching pedagogy is founded on the belief that learning should be liberating, and will strive to make your experience as experiential, exploratory, and empowering as possible.
I received my B.A in Art History at Pratt Institute, where I completed my thesis entitled "Modern Marionettes: The Triadic Ballet and Utopian Androgyny". My interests lie primarily in early 20th century modern art of Europe, specifically interwar avant-garde German art. My work explores the intersection between spirituality and abstraction, as well as interconnections between art, music, psychology, and social utopias. I also have extensive experience with Italian Renaissance Art, Greek and Roman Art, and Contemporary Art." less...
