"My name is Aric and I am from Richmond, VA. I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees from North Carolina A&T State University in Electrical Engineering and Industrial & Systems Engineering, respectively (Both degrees are Math heavy). Currently, I work full time as an Engineer in Richmond but have always been passionate about tutoring and enabling others to gain understanding in math. When I graduated High School in 2008, I tutored as a part time job up until 2013 in the areas of Geometry, Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 and Trigonometry.

What I love about tutoring is attempting to get individuals to think critically about what it is they are trying to accomplish with each problem. Don't just memorize a process and spit it out. Learn how to analyze what it is you are doing so that you apply it to all sorts of situations. Learning HOW to think is much better than learning WHAT to think.

I'd be an outstanding math tutor because the money is not the only reason I tutor. I tutor because I saw kids being left behind in school when they did not have to be. It hurts me to see someone's chance at success be lessened because they weren't shown how to do something in a manner that they could learn it. I love giving a person the chance to learn to think outside of the box and figure things out in unique ways because that's how I learned math. Just being told one way to do something is fine and dandy, but creating your own connection/way of solving something makes it more fun.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile and considering me in your search for a tutor." less...
