"I am a British Occupational Therapist (OT), qualified since 1989. I have lived in the USA since 1994. As an OT, it is my passion to teach someone a skill that will enable them to be as independent as possible. Everyone learns in a different way. When learning, it is important to have someone use creativity, humour and kindness. Every day in my work, I teach someone something new.

Formally, I have worked as an Instructor for the NE Florida Safety Council, I have been a Learn to Read tutor in a juvenile facility and recently worked in academia in my own profession. I am a lover of words and seek to share my English skills with those who need them. English can be a difficult subject to learn, I was lucky to be born into it!

I was born in the north of England and as a child, was passionate about reading. I have kept a journal for years and have had several articles published online related to my work. I was awarded the Competent Toastmaster award several years ago, and the skills learned there, help me communicate well on a daily basis. I am a lover of good grammar and expanded vocabulary; a good adjective or two can paint an exciting picture for a reader of written words.
